Retail Team Member

dilo is a Philadelphia based fragrance and personal care company focused on doing things the right way. Every product is made by hand, created and mixed in Philadelphia by Philly locals. We use all US materials in our products and believe in the high quality of our products and the relationships we have with every customer. 

Position Overview: The Retail Team Member is the face of dilo for our customers and is responsible for the retail customer experience from start to finish. The Retail Team Member provides exceptional customer service, greets and genuinely connects with customers, has full product and sales knowledge, operates the POS system, maintains floor inventory, and is responsible for the maintenance of the retail space. This position reports to the Owner.

Responsibilities:

    • Open and close the retail space and complete open and closing checklists each shift
    • Become knowledgeable about the product and have an open mind to learn more
    • Welcome and engage customers while they are in the store, providing excellent customer service
    • Process sales transactions
    • Enter new incoming product into Shopify/dilohome.com (http://dilohome.com) inventory
    • Restock shelves and label product as needed
    • Maintain a clean and well merchandised store, dust and sweep, trash removal
    • Maintain a clean storefront
    • Handle incoming customer calls and questions
    • Shipping support when needed, approximately 4-12 hours a week: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Packing boxes, labeling, knowledge of shipping software. Inventory knowledge. Maintain clean and organized workspace

Job Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and passion for excellent customer service
  • Ability to thrive in a start up culture and dynamically support the shifting needs of the business
  • Must be attentive, finishing open and closing checklists and looking for ways to support the team in downtime
  • Must be able to work efficiently in an independent environment 

Job Skills:

  • Must be able to stand 75% of a shift 4-7 hours in duration
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds overhead repeatedly throughout a shift
  • Must be able to work 20-30 hours weekly, with Thursday-Saturday availability
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of direct retail customer service experience 
  • Working knowledge of POS systems

Compensation: This position is Part Time, non-exempt from overtime and paid hourly $17-20, dependent on experience.
